Painting is a way of unlearning everything I was taught to believe about reality through the tedious effort of realizing over and over how little I know.  It is a springboard to propel someone beyond language, beyond belief, and beyond knowing.  A way of acknowledging the world exactly as it presents itself, and a sort of worm-hole through which we arrive directly before the object, directly before the world as it shows us what it is.  So gentleness is important, it seems it is a gentle mind that finds itself a home for the world.
